Our media partners Gruner + Jahr and Lufthansa Magazine co-sponsored the Internationalist Magazine's "Oktoberfest Comes to New York" event on October 5th. Several of us from Huson were there representing Gruner + Jahr, and executives Andre Freiheit and Heiko Hager flew in from Germany for the festivities.

 

This was the 3rd annual event, and I was impressed with the turnout; it was jam packed with clients like Bank Of America, Chase, P&G, Pfizer, and agency executives from Mcann, MEC, Sharp Communications, OMD, and Doremus. Dr. Horst Freitag, Consul General of the German Consulate New York, was the keynote speaker and gave his views on today’s German business market.

 

Everyone had a great time trying German beers and wine, and the sausages and Beer Pretzels truly gave us an authentic taste of Germany! A highlight of the night was when Penny Sidik of Tiffany’s won Gruner + Jahr and Lufthansa Magazine’s raffle of two round trip tickets on Lufthansa to Germany. I’ll have to ask Penny about her European adventure when she returns from the trip!
